Weekly Reflection
This week was the first week back from winter break. I think that next week we will be more awake and into our normal routines. We are egdging out of vacation mode still, so we haven't exatly been as focused. Otherwise, we have already made two poems ( look at earlier posts ) and started a poem thinker thing to put on our desk permanately.
My Winter Break
Over winter break me and my family went to Whistler, Canada. Almost everyday we went snow skiing on either Blackcomb or Whistler mountains. But, one day we went ziplinig on Blackcomb mountain. The whole vacation was so different and so fun!!!!

Similarities between Egyptians and Americans
By Caroline, Aditya, and Nakul
What are the similarities between the Declaration of Independence and the 2011 Egyptian Revolution? Disliking rulers, wanting to become a free nation and fighting for freedom and winning are just three of the many similarities between both places. One of the many similarities is both countries wanted a free nation. Egyptians wanted a nation free of poverty as the government wasn’t investing enough money to erase poverty. Furthermore, the Americans wanted a nation with freedom, liberty and justice. Another similarity between the Egyptians and the American colonists is that they both thought of there rulers as adversaries and wanted them out. The Egyptians wanted Hosni Mubarak out because he spent an ample of money on his family instead of his country. On the other hand the American Revolutionary wanted King George III out because he was enforcing way to many acts. The final similarity between the Declaration of Independence and the Egyptian Revolution is that they both fought at war with their rulers. America fought against their ruler, King George III, and, Egypt fought against their ruler, Mubarak. Surprisingly, both of them beat their opposition to get independence. One major battle for Egypt was the battle at Tahrir Square when pro-Mubarak supporters and anti-Mubarak supporters clashed when missiles and stones were thrown. Similarities can go on and on. From the nation not investing enough money on the country, to the greedy king enforcing too many laws and acts, and stones thrown at the famous Tahrir Square, history seems to be repeating over and over again.

$1 Rocks
By Caroline Wilson
I beg
I plead
I feel the need
to have another
$1 rock
I collect
I suspect
that they are perfect
and I want another
$1 rock
I find
unwind
be kind
and hope to have a
$1 rock
if only...
if only...
if only...
I had a $1 rock
